Congratulations to the Standing Ovation Show Choir and BLHS Jazz Ensemble for Superior Ratings at King's Island's Music in the Parks competition on Saturday. The Standing Ovation Show Choir finished in 1st place in their division while the jazz ensemble finished in 1st place and received the award for best overall jazz ensemble and best soloist in Josh Hardman. Great job everybody!
The lady raider track & field team placed 2nd in the conference meet held on Friday. Winning individual conference championships were Alex Thompson in the high jump and Taylor Rose in the long jump. Runner-up finishes went to Madison Leis in the pole vault and Monica Mannings in the 100 meter dash. Completing the scoring were Ciarra Wirick in the pole vault and100 hurdles; Marissa Wilbur in the long jump, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles; Jennifer Poling in the discus and Mannings in the 200 dash. Scoring in the relays were the 2 mile relay team of Lindsey Longbrake, Hannah Boysel, Lauren Johns and Morgan Allen. Also scoring was the 800 meter relay team of Mannings, Thompson, Wilbur and Wirick. The team will begin the tournaments on Thursday at Graham High School.
Attention Juniors: Exam exemption forms will be passed out today during A block. Completed forms, signed by parent and teacher are due to the guidance office no later than Friday, May 24th. Late forms will not be accepted. If you have any questions, please stop by the guidance office.
Anyone interested in sending a farewell card to a senior may pick up blank cards in Mrs. Fay’s Room, 413. Completed cards may be returned to Mrs. Fay or Mrs. Hemmelgarn.
There will be a cross-country meeting for any boy that wants to run CC today right after school in the HS commons with Coach Braddock.
FCA is holding an AA pull tab contest for Ronald McDonald House charities. You have until tomorrow, May 22nd, to turn pull tabs in during AA with a prize for the AA collecting the most pull tabs.
There will be a meeting in the commons for the girl’s soccer team to discuss the summer schedule immediately after school Thursday, May 23rd with Coach Kerns.
The Benjamin Logan Technology Department is again offering a summer internship program. Learn about technology while earning credit. Pick up an application in the office. The deadline for applications is May 24.
The Athletic Awards evening for Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field will be held Tuesday, May 28th beginning at 6:30p.m. in the high school commons. Cake and punch will be served.
Benjamin Logan Sports Physicals – for 7th – 12th grade students playing ANY sport during the 2013-2014 school year. Wednesday, May 29th 3:00pm-5:30pm by appointment, to schedule call 355-0620, Walk-Ins from 5:30pm-6:30pm on May 29th. A physical form must be completed and signed by a parent prior to the physical; forms can be picked up in the office. Cost is $12.00
